"The guerillas took a teacher and were going to kill him. They abused him and said he was a collaborator with the paramilitaries. The community gathered in a meeting very quickly and thirteen men, women and children followed the guerillas and they said to them that the teacher of the children should not be killed and that if he had done anything wrong, the governor of the community would see that he was punished. We said, if you kill him, you kill us all, so they gave him up."
