Oxfam's Clothes Code Campaign focused on the rights and conditions of workers in Free Trade Zones. These photographs are from the Dominican Republic.

"Managers are very intolerant, and they don't like workers to take time off for any reason. In one factory where I worked, a pregnant woman was just a few minutes late because she had been to the doctor, and she was sacked. I tried to stand up for her and said it wasn't fair, but I was hauled into the manager's office and given a mouthful" (Estela Silvestre, ex-garment worker, pictured centre)
